The Group of Wives of African Ambassadors in Morocco (GEAAM) attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data. This policy explains what data is collected on this website, why, how it is protected and how to exercise your rights, in accordance with Moroccan Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data.
Data controller
The data controller is GEAAM, represented by its President, to be completed.
- Registered office: to be completed
- Contact: geaammaroc@gmail.com
Technical service provider
Elite Knowledge (eliteknowledge.org) hosts and maintains the website on behalf of GEAAM, as a data processor. It processes data only on GEAAM’s instructions, for the needs of the website, and does not use it for any other purpose.
Data collected
We only ask for the data we need:
- Event registration: first name, last name, email address, phone number (optional), nationality, city of residence, the language in which you use the website, and the date and time of your consent.
- Contact form: name, email address, phone number (optional), subject and message, the language in which you use the website, and the date and time of your consent.
- Technical data: your IP address is used temporarily to secure the website, in particular to limit abusive form submissions, and appears in the server’s technical logs.
Purposes
Your data is used to:
- record and confirm your registration, and send you a file to add the event to your calendar;
- send you reminders before the event (seven days, three days, one day and one hour before) along with useful practical information;
- organise the welcome of guests and estimate attendance;
- reply to your messages and requests (questions, partnerships, press);
- keep the website secure and prevent abuse.
Your data is never sold, rented or used for advertising.
Legal basis
Processing related to the forms is based on your consent, given by ticking the dedicated box before sending. You may withdraw it at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing carried out beforehand.
Recipients
Your data is only accessible to authorised GEAAM members in charge of organising events and handling requests, each according to their role, and to the technical service provider. Emails (confirmations, reminders, replies) are delivered through a specialised email delivery service whose servers may be located outside Morocco.
Retention
Registration data is kept for as long as necessary to organise the event and follow up on it, then deleted. Messages received through the contact form are kept for as long as necessary to handle and follow up on the request, then deleted.
Security
The website is only accessible over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the administration area is restricted to named accounts, protected by a password and limited according to each person’s role; sign-ins are logged. The forms are protected against automated submissions.
Your rights
Under Law No. 09-08, you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected and to object, on legitimate grounds, to its processing. You may also ask for it to be deleted at any time.
Every reminder email contains an unsubscribe link, which immediately stops further reminders.
To exercise your rights, please write to geaammaroc@gmail.com, stating your request and, where relevant, the event concerned. We will reply as soon as possible.
Cookies and local storage
The website uses no advertising cookies and no audience measurement tools. It only sets technical cookies that are essential to its operation:
- a session cookie, which expires after two hours of inactivity;
- a security cookie, which protects the forms against fraudulent submissions;
- a cookie that remembers your chosen language for one year.
The light or dark theme you choose is stored in your browser and is never transmitted. Fonts are loaded from a European service (Bunny Fonts) that sets no cookies.
